First of all, citizens of full European (EFTA, EEA) Member Countries are able to live and work in Norway without a visa or work permit. But if you are from New EU Member Countries like Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia you will need to have a work permit before you can start working. You can apply for a permit both at Norwegian embassies and consulates where you live or by going to a police station in Norway in person. Sometimes the employers apply on behalf of the worker.
